Our Story
At AO, we want to make sure our customers are happy. When they have a smile on their face, we know we’ve done a good job. It’s at the heart of everything we do, and it’s why our logo is always smiling.
When it comes to appliances and electricals, we’ve got the lot. Washing machines? Yep. TVs? Check. Laptops? Absolutely. Everything except doorbells (just kidding, we’ve got those too).
It started at a pub in Bolton with a £1 bet and a belief that things could be done better!
AO Logistics
In 2009, Expert Logistics became part of the AO family – and we’ve never looked back. With 17 depots nationwide and 740,000sq ft of warehousing space, we’ve got complete end-to-end control of our operation.
Drivers who deliver for AO are the trustworthy smile behind 1000s of eagerly anticipated electricals. They’re reliable and smart, full of beans and always friendly. AO Recycling
In 2017 we acquired the Recycling Group and defined exactly what it means to recycle ‘the AO Way’.
We’re one of the UK’s biggest recyclers of fridges and other Large Domestic Appliances (LDAs). We make would-be waste great again, by turning these old fridges, washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers into valuable resources.
Appliances that have reached the end of their life are given the full AO Recycling treatment – they’re broken apart and sorted into their constituent metals, plastics and insulation foam at our state-of-the-art plant in Shropshire.

AO Mobile
In 2019 we welcomed AO Mobile into the family. Following the 2018 acquisition of Mobile Phones Direct, we expanded our offering in the mobile phone space. When it comes to mobiles, we know our stuff – and we like to keep things crystal clear without the confusing jargon for our customers.
