Annual leave

Everyone gets 25 days’ holiday when they start. After 1 year, that increases to 26 days and after 2 years, you’ll get 27 days holiday.

Pension

Company sick pay

No one wants to be ill, and that can’t always be helped. That’s why we offer enhanced Company Sick Pay for employees who have been with us for more than 6 months. Your sick pay entitlement will also increase with your continued service.

Make A Difference (MAD) days

We give all our AOers 2x fully paid days to donate their time to any charity of their choice. MAD days let AOers give back to causes that really matter to them and make a real difference.

Family leave

Family comes first, that’s why we offer enhanced benefits across maternity, shared parental leave and adoption. Your first 13 weeks paid at 100% of your pay. The next 13 weeks are paid at 50% and the remaining 13 weeks at the current statutory rate. (Based on being an AO employee for at least 12 months at the expected week of arrival).

Holiday carry over

If you don’t take all of your annual leave, we’ll automatically carry it over into the next holiday year (up to 1 working week).

Flexible bank holidays

We’re proud to have such a diverse group of AOers, and we know not everyone celebrates the same things. That’s why we allow you to swap your bank holidays to days that are more meaningful to you (up to 3 days a year) – if it matters to you, it matters to us.*

Help @ Hand

Our Help @ Hand Scheme gives you everything you need to support with personal problems such as access to a virtual GP, mental health support, physio and even medical second opinions.

Employee Assistance Programme

Our EAP gives AOers confidential support to cope with any personal issues that can be difficult to talk about. AOers can call at any time or, if they prefer not to talk on the phone, they can access the online service.

Share Save Scheme

An easy way to save money, our Share Save Scheme allows you to put away £10-£500 a month over a 3-year period. At the end of it you can buy AO shares at a discounted price, or simply take the cash.

Life cover

Dealing with the loss of a family member is extremely difficult, the last thing anyone needs is money worries. Our life cover provides valuable support for the people who depend on you financially by paying out a lump sum equivalent to 3 times your basic salary.
