AO fought off competition from across the UK to win two prestigious awards, Best Sales Employer and Best Sales Team, at this year’s Institute of Sales Management BESMA Awards.
The British Excellence in Sales Management Awards (BESMA for short) is the most prestigious sales awards in the UK which was established over 25 years ago. These awards are all about recognising the UK’s top sales individuals and organisations.

We’ve been recognised for our outstanding approach to sales and our market leading graduate roles. AO currently employs over 100 sales graduates and doesn’ plan to stop there.
Our focus on earning potential, investment in development and training with consistent high performance, has reaffirmed AO as a great place to work. We have quickly become the graduate employer of choice at a number of universities across the North West!
In 2014 our training was endorsed by the Institute of Sales Management (ISM), highlighting our commitment to giving new AO’ers the best possible start when they join the business. This year AO became an ISM recognised centre, allowing us to deliver ISM professional qualifications.
Winning this award recognises the sales records and quality of results being produced by our AO’ers – They do an amazing job!
When we caught up with our Director of Sales, Karl Hinchcliffe, he said: “The sales team speak to over 20,000 AO customers each week – adding a real human touch to an online buying journey. Both awards recognise years of hard work to make AO THE destination for sales people in the North of England. We are delighted to win both awards, fighting off very tough competition. The awards are not the end, this is the start of a renewed journey to find a better way in the sales profession.”
