We are proud to announce that we have beaten off stiff competition, to win “IT Team of the Year” at Wednesday night’s, BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards (Our IT Team also came second place in the “Best Place to Work in IT” category).
The event which took place at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London, celebrates best practice, innovation and excellence in the IT sector.
We took home the “IT Team of the Year” award, after we demonstrated how our IT teams are fundamental in making AO such a success over the last 12 months. The BCS (the award organisers) said they were really impressed with our commitment to staying at the cutting edge of technology, and our internal culture, especially the focus we have on learning, self-development and progression.
As an exclusively online business, with digital offices in both Manchester city centre and Bolton, IT is critical to our operation and our success. This year, as well as maintaining the main UK retail site, our IT team has built a fully transactional mobile app, continued to run our European sites from the UK, re-developed our internal delivery app and much much more.
