About The Role

You will work closely with our Depot Supervisor on a daily basis to make sure that our Outbase runs smoothly and that each and every one of our customers receives their appliance on time, every time. You will be the main point of contact for our Self Employed Drivers and be responsible for the effective management of the transhipping and delivery of appliances. This will include opening site, debriefing, allocating work, relevant team updates and general supervising across the depot.

Shifts : 5 on 3 off / 5 on 2 off - AM & PM alternating shifts. AM 4am-1pm and PM 1pm-10pm

AM shift - You will start by opening the site and letting our first trailers in, preparing paperwork for these trailers (along with van keys), ensure vans are ready on the bay, and ensure all of our drivers get out on the road smoothly. Once all deliveries out, you will then allocate work across the depot and update emails based on returns trailer, to the relevant department. This may also include some vehicle debriefing on early return.

PM - You will be preparing start times for the following day, to send to our delivery crews, monitor progression on the road for remaining deliveries, any OTR updates where needed to relevant teams, find assistance for any crews that may need it OTR, and vehicle debriefing upon return.

You will be enthusiastic and driven towards achieving high standards of quality and be bold enough to make key decisions quickly and trust your own judgement in the running of the operation.

A Few Things About You

  • Understand transport legislation and logistics operation
  • Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure
  • React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written
  • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
