Brand, Marketing and Creative at AO

Our Brand, Marketing & Creative teams cover a lot of ground! They’re the ones cooking up all the cool stuff you see on and offline, and working hard behind the scenes to make sure we’re always driving “top of mind” awareness and consideration with new and existing customers. From catchy marketing campaigns to slick product content, we’re all about spreading our “UK’s most trusted electrical retailer” message in a fun and easy-to-understand way. The team raise the bar creatively and bring our brand to life in loads of different ways! You’ve probably caught our TV adverts (yep, we sell TVs too!), heard our catchy jingle on the radio (you know the one that goes “AO, Let’s Go!!), or checked us out on social media (spoiler: we’ve sell phones and laptops as well!)—and this brilliant bunch makes it all happen!

Brand

Our Brand team define who we are, what we stand for, and how people see us. At AO, we want to make sure our customers are happy. When they have a smile on their face, we know we’ve done a good job and that’s at the heart of everything we do. From shaping how people feel about us to ensuring our values and ‘always on’ personality shines through; we create meaningful connections that keep our customers coming back. We’re the brand police (green and proud!), here to make sure our brand always looks and sounds its best while adding a bit of AO-ness in everything we do. As the UK’s most trusted electrical retailer, we’re all about building trust and making our customers’ lives easier – always with an AO smile!

Marketing

Our Marketing team is made up of 3 areas ; Trade Marketing, E-Commerce and CRM, who all work hard to make sure the best products and deals are always in front of our customers. Here’s a sneak peek into their worlds!

Trade Marketing

The Trade Marketing & Promotions team collaborates with our suppliers to develop effective marketing campaigns and promotions.  We focus on demonstrating the value of our products to customers by highlighting how they can improve daily life and habits.  We work closely with manufacturers such as Apple, Hotpoint, and Bosch to secure the best deals, offers, and exclusive opportunities, ensuring our customers receive maximum value.  We’re proud to say that we’ve build strong partnerships that enable us to create better customer experiences and deliver value for us, our partners, and our customers.

E-Commerce

Our E-Commerce team are the key to our growth. They’re focused on increasing sales, improving the customer experience, and cutting waste. Our goal is to make the whole shopping journey—from start to finish—easy, personal, and competitive, using data to improve everything. The team’s all about delivering great experiences, optimizing products, and adding new features to make shopping better. We’re always looking for ways to improve and stay ahead.

CRM

In CRM, our goal is to build lasting relationships with customers and keep them coming back to AO. We do this by delivering a balanced mix of emotional and practical messages that boost brand engagement. We handle everything from crafting campaign messages for our existing customers to managing key touchpoints like welcome journeys, cross-sells, and re-engagement efforts. We also manage important transactional communications, review requests, and referral programs to make the overall customer experience even better.

Creative

Getting appliances into your homes starts way before they’re loaded onto our vans. Concepts, drafts, edits, retouches and sign-offs start millions of customer journeys in finding the perfect fryers, dryers, coffee machines and washing machines. Our creative guides you from TV screens, emails, billboards, and magazines and gets you onto our website. From there, our work demystifies complicated tech, makes it easy to compare products and ultimately gets those products in your basket and onto the van – all in a friendly, faff-free tone of voice. Those behind the magic are the planners, copywriters, creatives, photographers, designers, and animators who help get the AO name out there month in, month out.
