Back at the end of 2018, Our charity (The AO Smile Foundation) sat down with Derian House and discussed the possibility of funding part of the site-wide redevelopment of the children’s hospice. We’re passionate about giving children and young people the best possible start in life, so we decided to take responsibility for providing a new, multi-use area including a state of the art sensory zone, and ‘snug’.
The now redeveloped 38sq/m Play Zone, officially opening in January 2020 will have a massive impact on the daily life of Derian House Children’s Hospice. The space will also make use of improved technology to increase stimulations and interactive play for all children and young people at the hospice.
