South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce awards 2018

Back to articles

South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) held their annual awards ceremony at Crewe Hall this month, and we’re proud to say that our AO Logistics team scooped up three of their most prestigious awards.

The Chamber of Commerce has been around for over 150 years, helping to promote and protect businesses in the area. Each year they host an awards ceremony to celebrate the amazing work of local businesses who contribute to the local economy, and this year AO was the outright winner in three of their categories (despite some pretty tough competition):

  • Young Leader of the Year – Commercial Manager, Adrian Webb

Nominations: CE Back Office, Eze Talk, OCJ Marketing and Watts Commercial Finance

  • Contribution to the Community – AO Logistics

Nominations: AO Logistics, Insight to Impact and New Business Network

  • Employer of the Year – AO Logistics

Nominations: Everybody Sport & Recreation Ltd, AO Logistics and CE Back Office

  • Apprentice of the Year, Runner-up – Sam Edler

Nominations: AO Logistics, Crewe & Nantwich Gymnastics, Everybody Sport & Recreation Ltd

We spoke to Future Talent Advisor, Kerrie, to find out what it means to the business.

“It’s a huge accolade for our business because it means that we are gaining recognition in the local area. AO Logistics has set up camp in Crewe, surrounded by major employers who have been here for many, many years, and people are now starting to understand what we can offer the local economy not just as an employer who looks after its employees, but as a business who cares about the community”

It’s another brilliant demonstration of our values in action, in the local community. Congratulations to Adrian for winning Young Leader of the Year, to Kerrie Salisbury for collaborating with the SCCC, and to every AO’er who has taken time to support our efforts in the community.
