An AO induction is an essential part of welcoming you to the team, so that you can get to know a little more about us and the AO way. It’s a great opportunity to meet other new starters as well as your new colleagues. It’ll also give you a chance to familiarise yourself with some key information, so you know exactly what’s what before you get started.
And, it doesn’t stop there. After a couple of weeks you’ll reconvene for a Q&A session with our CEO.
We strongly believe in growing talent from within wherever possible. We’ve designed our Star Programme to help develop our aspiring managers, giving them the tools and resources they need to step into future management roles at AO. It’s a hands-on experience that features team building, business and charity projects, business updates, self-development and skills workshops. All learnings are designed to be used straight away in current roles, making sure our future leaders have the best possible start.
We introduced the Future Programme to help our managers always be at their best, and to provide ongoing development and support throughout their careers at AO. The programme is made up of various elements, all delivered by our very own Learning & Development team with the help of senior management as well as our Founder, CEO and CFO.
250 managers across the UK take part in formal training, skills workshops, charity projects and team building. They can also benefit from the recommended tools, books and videos that have helped our current business leaders. Our Brand Director proudly sponsors this programme, making sure that the AO culture is protected as the business continues to grow.
Performance & Development plans
Ongoing development is a crucial part of any career, and at AO you can benefit from regular reviews and development plans. There are so many different roles throughout the business, it’s only right that these reviews are tailored to suit each individual’s needs, but the ultimate goal is the same: to take stock of where you are and get you to where you want to be.
You’ll have the opportunity to go through this process every six months, with a focus on leveraging your existing strengths and developing skills to achieve your future goals. You’ll work with your manager to create a development plan that suits you, and you’ll be able to review your plan in regular monthly catch ups to make sure you’re on track and getting the support you need.
