About The Role

Our Transport Supervisor will work closely to the Transport Manager, Regional Manager and Outbase Mangers ensuring that we have the right vehicles in the right place, at the right time. Liaising closely with external suppliers, including dealerships and vehicle suppliers, you will manage relationships for maintenance, fleet support and additional vehicle requirements. You will also liaise regularly with our commercial department continually helping to explore new ways to improve out vehicles and develop modifications as our business expands.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

Promote H&S culture by ensuring that employees work in a way that reduces risk. A good understanding of H&S legislation is preferable Communicate with vehicle manufactures and leasing companies with future vehicle and trailer specs Continuously improvement in maintenance of vehicles ensuring full legal compliance Regular maintenance agent review meetings nationally bringing relevant contracts Help to manage the company MOT pass rate- to prevent any detrimental effect on company OCRS Ensure we have the right management teams on each licence Ensure all fleet is up to date on the VOSA database Maintaining the company licences in each different traffic area You will do this by; As out Transport Supervisor you will ensure that our day-to-day running of the transport department runs effectively at all times and that any tasks set by the transport manager have been achieved.

* Maximise on quality, time and cost by ensuring that all vehicles are loaded as efficiently as can be, within legal and safety guidelines

You must smart enough to think on your feet and have a passion to drive our performance paying careful attention to the service we deliver for our customers. You have to be bold enough to make key decisions quickly and trust your own judgement in the absence of the Operations Manager.

An in-depth understanding of warehouse operations

Experience of working to tight deadlines

Experience of working in a transport/logistics or warehouse an environment with daily fluctuating workloads

Able to analyse information quickly to help to build routes and vehicle loading plans

SKILLS

Able to remain calm and focussed under time pressure

Able to solve problems independently and with confidence

Able to communicate effectively especially by email and phone

* Has a logical and methodical approach to all tasks

* Has an analytical mind

TECHNICAL
* PC literate including warehouse software and Microsoft Packages
* Can use Excel to intermediate or advanced level
* Experience using in-house warehouse or transport management systems
