About The Role

As part of the Premier Installations Audit team at AO, this role primarily covers engineers in the Northern and Midland depots, with nationwide travel and overnight stays expected. The team ensures compliance with regulatory standards and conducts audits to assess safety and quality of gas and electrical installations in customer homes.

The role contributes to customer safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and protecting AO's reputation, ultimately safeguarding against fines and penalties while promoting ongoing commercial success.
Our Group Internal Audit function have a responsibility to provide independent assurance to the Board and other key stakeholders regarding risk management.

Responsibilities include incident investigations, providing feedback to engineers, making recommendations for improvements, and collaborating with operations for continuous enhancement. The role contributes to customer safety, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and protecting AO's reputation.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Risk-based live/post live engineer technical installation audits within customer homes
  • Incident investigations in customer homes to establish root causes
  • Planning of engineer audits
  • Weekly reports of engineers audited and recommendations/observations
  • Installation incident reports and recommendations for improvement
  • Remote advice for installation incidents - part of incident response team
  • Technical training for engineers when required
  • Attending Premier Installations operational meetings
  • Work with Premier Installations Operation and Group Internal Audit teams
  • Assisting completion of administration-based periodic compliance audits.
  • Liaise with external regulators
  • Review installation processes at outbase locations

A Few Things About You

  • Gas Safe Qualified 18th Edition qualified (preferable) or high degree of electrical competency
  • Audit capabilities/ can conduct investigations
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Flexible approach to work/ can travel nationwide
  • Excellent customer service/relationship skills
  • Risk-based approach to work
