About The Role

At AO we are passionate about delivering an excellent customer experience and this starts with you. You will be the face of AO to ensure a remarkable in-store experience for everyone that steps foot into our exciting new stores.

You will act as escalation to store colleagues and supervise the team. In addition, you will be a key component in ensuring our customers have the best possible journey by being welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable about the products we sell.

The hours for the role are 40 hours per week on a rota between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 8pm Saturday , Sunday will store trading hours.

Customer Experience is at the heart of everything we do and the foundation of our success lies on keeping it the best it can be.

You will be trained as an expert in our product range to be best placed in delivering knowledge and advice on everything from Cookers to Laptops, plus Kettles and Toasters to Vacuum Cleaners. You will also be trained in something that’s important to all AO’ers, wherever they work… treating every customer like your Gran!

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

§ Ensure that the operations of the store is carried out according to the procedures and standards set by the Store Manager.

§ You will be there to lead and motivate the store team to hit all KPI’s daily,

§ Act as an escalation point to the store colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager. Often asked to be the 'acting manager' during some shifts.

§ You will be responsible for the opening and closing store procedures.

§ Support investigations into any stock discrepancies

§ Welcoming customers and deliver a world class experience based on care, attention and product expertise.

§ You could be talking gaming or cooking, cleaning or computing, Smart tech and so much more, ultimately helping customers decide what’s right for them.

§ You’ll show pride in presentation, ensuring the store is clean and tidy, the displays are visually pleasing and stock replenished.

§ You’ll be processing payments at till point and sending customers on their way with a smile their face.

§ Working with the delivery team to check off deliveries

§ Manager in duties inc. coaching, holding meetings, driving a level of performance from the team

§ Take every opportunity to review internal processes and implement improvements to increase the quality and productivity of the team.

§ Provide appropriate support to all departmental colleagues to ensure that performance targets are met

§ As part of this role lone working is to be expected, also management of your own time and workload
