About The Role

Our commercial team are front and centre in our retail business. Without them, we wouldn’t have the insights needed to make decisions on range, pricing, promotions and all the other things that makes AO the number one destination for electricals.

You'll add value to the business, taking ownership of a sales and margin commercial analysis team, driving performance of our Retail business through insightful investigation, analysis and the implementation of relevant actions.

Building collaborative relationships with senior management, the wider Commercial team, and teams from around the business to positively impact performance and strategy will play a key play a key part of your role.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Driving commercial development, building and delivering plans to ensure sales and profitability targets are achieved across all product categories
  • Managing and developing a team of commercial analysts, upskilling individuals, planning and assigning work, reviewing performance, driving best practice and actioning areas of opportunity within our offering
  • Working collaboratively with Directors and Heads of Departments to ensure that the team are providing brilliant service, driving improvement and meeting all expectations
  • Owning your own area of the P&L as well as all relevant forecasting and budgeting inputs
  • Driving improvements across all processes and aiding the department's development towards advanced analytics and best practice solutions
  • Educating, supporting and policing the business in pursuit of all sales and profitability metrics
  • Adding full commercial control to all decisions in your area, considering the P&L impact of your actions

A Few Things About You

  • Numerical degree preferably in Maths, Statistics, Economics, Accounting or a Business-related discipline.
  • Experience of working within a commercial, analytical or accounting function
  • Highly numerate/analytical mindset
  • Experience of managing a team and driving performance through direct reports
  • Confidence to challenge the status quo and offer recommendations
  • Logical and tenacious approach, with a can-do attitude
