Job Overview

About The Role

Recruitment marketing is a key part of our Talent Acquisition team - we make sure that we’re doing everything we can to attract the right people to AO. In this role, you’ll provide essential support to our team of recruiters and own the social media activity for our Employer Brand strategy.

It’s safe to say that no two days will ever be the same in this job. One minute you could be setting up a campaign to help us hire Software Developers, the next you’re dressing up as Bear (our AO mascot) and dancing to the latest TikTok trend.

We know we work better when we’re together, so all our AOers come into the office Monday to Friday. We collaborate more easily, have continual conversations, we’re more creative, give better support, and all this makes us more motivated and even better at what we do.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Create and post updates across our careers social media pages (such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Look after the AO careers page - making sure that copy and assets are updated where necessary
  • Collate, edit and upload stories from AOers across the business to our careers website and share these externally
  • Create and deliver targeted recruitment marketing campaigns, such as sponsorship on job boards, paid social advertising etc.
  • Monitor and report on our social media channels success including engagement, impressions, likes etc. and come up with innovative ways on how to grow our following
  • Manage our company responses on review channels e.g. Glassdoor and Indeed

A Few Things About You

  • Experience in creating content for social media with some examples of your work
  • A background in 360 recruitment, or previous experience as a marketing executive
  • Confidence using editing software such as the Adobe suite
  • A natural writing ability - you can turn standard text into dazzling copy that’s in line with our tone of voice
  • An understanding of how different marketing campaigns work (both organic and paid) and where they might be used best in the recruitment world
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines

A Bit About Us

At AO, we want to make sure our customers are happy. When they have a smile on their face, we know we’ve done a good job. It’s at the heart of everything we do, and it’s why our logo is always smiling.

When it comes to appliances and electricals, we’ve got the lot. Washing machines? Yep. TVs? Check. Laptops? Absolutely. Everything except doorbells (just kidding, we’ve got those too).

We’re passionate, relentless and full of beans, determined to make a difference and change the world for the better. From massive changes to tiny tweaks - making a difference is what keeps us driven. It started at a pub in Bolton with a £1 bet and a belief that things could be done better!
