About The Role

You can do a lot of things in 12 months. Train for the London Marathon, learn a whole new language or even go off and have a baby… And funnily enough, our Recruitment Marketing & Employer Brand Manager has decided to do just that. So we need someone to come in and take the reins whilst she’s swapping content for nappies and strategy for sleepless nights.

Recruitment marketing is a key part of our Talent Acquisition team - we make sure that we’re doing everything we can to attract the right people to AO. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy for all our recruitment marketing and employer brand efforts across the AO Group, as well as tactical activation across core business areas.

We’ll look to you as our subject matter expert on talent attraction strategies - providing advice and support to the recruitment team and helping stakeholders across the business understand the value and benefits this brings.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Own the advertising strategy for the AO Group, using data to make the right decisions on where we advertise our job vacancies
  • Design, develop and execute our recruitment marketing campaigns across a variety of organic and paid platforms
  • Report on the success of our marketing campaigns, tracking spend and performance
  • Embed our newly defined Employee Value Proposition (EVP) across the full AOer lifecycle, developing campaigns that bring it to life, and evolving it as our business grows
  • Own the employer brand content strategy for the AO Group, aligning content to our EVP pillars
  • Act as an ambassador for employee advocacy across the business, encouraging AOers to post content externally and share best practices so we can succeed together
  • Manage our employer reputation channels (Glassdoor & Indeed) such as company profiles, review and response strategy
  • Look after our careers sites ( &, making sure content is up to date and optimised based on Google Analytics performance
  • Line manage 1x Recruitment Marketing Executive and support development of wider recruitment team with all things attraction

A Few Things About You

  • Proven recruitment marketing and employer brand experience
  • An understanding of how different marketing campaigns work (both organic and paid) and where they might be used best for different audiences
  • Natural creative ability with a passion for storytelling
  • Experience delivering projects and working with multiple suppliers, both internally and externally
  • Strong coaching and influencing ability, both direct and non-direct reports
  • Ability to multi-task a high personal workload, balancing delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery of recruitment marketing strategy and plans
  • Natural eye for data - you’re able to turn numbers into a story and use this to inform decisions
  • The ability to challenge existing ways of thinking and bring in new ideas to the team
