About The Role

We’re searching for a talented Lead Solutions Architect to shape the future of our enterprise applications. In this role, you'll lead the design of transitional enterprise applications target architecture, design evolution, migration of services from legacy systems to modern enterprise solutions and implement a robust integration framework.

Your leadership will be crucial in adopting the key technologies that define our strategic roadmap, ensuring scalable, forward-thinking solutions that underpin AO.com’s continued success. As our Lead Solutions Architect you'll drive decision-making processes informed by proven strategic analysis such as PACE (Performance, Agility, Cost, and Experience) and TIME (Technology, Infrastructure, Market, and Efficiency).

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

  • Modelling of Legacy to COTS (Customisable Off the Shelf) target architecture that demonstrate transition from legacy services to a modern framework, premised on segregation of concern and strategic analysis of PACE (Performance, Agility, Cost, and Experience) and TIME (Technology, Infrastructure, Market, and Efficiency.
  • Developing architectural models: Create and maintain current, future, and transitional enterprise architecture models, mapping applications to business processes and facilitating the design of legacy service migration taking a service orientated architecture (SOA) approach.
  • Collaborating with leadership: Work closely with business and technology leads to ensure our architecture is robust, scalable, and optimized for business growth.
  • Shaping the architecture roadmap: Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps that align with our strategic goals, with a focus on a three-year horizon.
  • Defining domain structures: Collaborate with technical leads to define Domain-Driven Analysis (DDA). Lead the assignment of domains and bounded contexts to AO’s as well as oversee software domain/application target architecture design.
  • Leading service migration: Conduct architectural analysis of services that need to migrate to a segregation of concern framework, COTS vs build/blended.
  • Setting integration strategy: Lead the design and execution of AO’s integration strategy, ensuring adoption of new technologies and practices.
  • Staying ahead of trends: Monitor emerging architectural innovations and identify opportunities to enhance AO’s capabilities and drive future growth.
  • Driving process improvements: Identify opportunities to enhance business processes by leveraging our enterprise applications and aligning them with business needs. Technically consulting where we can further leverage AOs ERPs to maximise business adoption and utilisation.

A Few Things About You

You excel at leading technical teams, managing cross-functional projects, and guiding complex decisions. You’re comfortable engaging with and influencing senior executives while inspiring your team to deliver cutting-edge solutions. With a proven track record of balancing buy vs. build strategies, you’ll leverage existing technologies while defining future architecture.You’re adept at establishing strong relationships, translating business opportunities into technical requirements. You have experience in vendor and supplier management and working up design with third party vendors.

  • Layered critical thinking: An ability to perform application, system and business analysis using a high degree of critical thinking and strategic techniques.
  • Expertise in COTS ERP (AX & D365): Extensive design and architecture knowledge of COTS/ERP platforms.
  • Solution Architecture experience: Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, developing target architecture models, SOA transitions and target architecture and influencing buy vs. build decisions informing application and transformation roadmaps.
  • Stakeholder management: Strong ability to work with senior stakeholders, aligning technology strategies with business objectives and embedding them into strategic roadmaps.
  • Strategic modelling skills: Ability to model current and future organisational strategies using capability or process maps.
  • Agile and Waterfall expertise: Extensive experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies in large-scale program delivery environments and understanding their impact on architecture design, transition and states.
  • Solution-oriented approach: Proven ability to assess architecture’s alignment with the overall technology roadmap and develop scalable, innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Strong capability to coach and mentor colleagues, driving engagement with the architecture practice to maximize its value across the organization.
