About The Role
The Lead Front End role is an important role within the front-end team. Lead Front End developers have the responsibility of managing direct reports but also have an obligation as a collective to ensure the front-end team maintains its culture, progress, output and evolution.
This is a hands-on role and you will still be writing code daily as a member of a product team. You will be required to split your responsibilities between delivering projects and working with your direct reports.
Lead Front End developers are our ambassadors. The ones who set the standard, who raise the level of others around them, technically and culturally, who embody the AO values and work actively to achieve the long-term vision of the team.
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
Working alongside our product owner, UX designer, back end developers, QA and analysts you’ll be building, feature-rich, responsive and insight-led experiences for our customers.
MVT (A/B/n testing) sits at the heart of our experimentation and you’ll work with our optimisation specialists to run tests against new software features.
We want your input on team process and ways of working, helping the team mature in ceremonies, development standards and planning the best tech approach to deliver working software.
A Few Things About You
We use the following technologies, so commercial experience with them is beneficial:
HTML / CSS / SASS / Tailwind
State Management (Redux Toolkit / Context API)
Node JS based tooling (Gulp / Webpack etc.)
Experience of cloud solutions (AWS / Azure)
Solid testing etiquette, preferably using TDD (Jest / React Testing Library / Cypress
