A Bit About Us
We’re a bunch of people who go to great lengths to make sure our customers are the happiest customers out there. We may sell everything from washing machines to PlayStations, but at our core we’re a people business.
We roll up our sleeves and work together to make things happen. From logistics, recycling to our award winning IT teams, almost everything we do, we do ourselves to make sure every aspect of our customer journey is done properly.
We launched in 2000 as a result of a £1 bet in a Bolton pub. 18 years later we have a 5* TrustPilot rating (after 100K reviews), expanded our business into Europe and floated on the London stock exchange, but we never lose sight of what we’re about.
More About the Role
It’s about joining a cross functional "scrumban" team who love what they do!
You will work closely with our warehouse and logistics operations to make them the best they can be. At the same time we will support your personal development and allow you to unlock your professional potential becoming a valued member of the IT Department.
Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing
Having a close relationship with your internal customer and helping elicit requirements (We tend to ask why a lot)
Uncovering nonfunctional requirements - ("How many of these need processing in an hour")
Choosing technology tools - "Have you guys seen this new java test runner?"
Choosing the best solution for the problem - "A spreadsheet is not the best tool for this task"
Implementing the solution - "cutting code"
Building quality in - red/green/refactor - TDD
Constantly improving our software processes - "How could we get more value out of our daily stand up?"
Constantly improving our engineering processes - "Is this a suitable candidate for automation?"
A Few Things About You
Above all, the right attitude is key. If you wake up each morning with a smile on your face knowing that you’ll learn something new today but you have no idea what. If your only purpose in life is to make the world of your customer a better place then this is the job for you.
Here’s a non-exhaustive list of technologies/tools we would like for you to bring with you.

* Must be keen to learn and apply new technologies.
* Highly self-motivated
