More About the Role

As the Internal Communications Manager, you will be responsible for creating and executing an internal communications strategy including developing company messages and effective internal campaigns that align with the AO’s strategy and priorities. You will deliver these across a range of channels, including through line managers, to inform and engage AO’ers across a range of sites from distribution teams to office workers.

The aim of the role is to ensure a consistent and high quality internal communication framework to support our AO’ers being informed, inspired and motivated to AO’s purpose.

You will act as the owner of the visual identity of all communications channels. Provide guidance and inspiration to leaders to understand the importance of internal communications. Champion the diversity and variety of AO’ers across our total UK organisation (and influence Europe) to ensure a people-first mentality for all communications.

Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing

The role will be responsible for all internal comms campaigns across all UK sites, to ensure high quality, effective and measurable communications across channels including identifying and testing new and creative formats / channels.

Developing strong relationships across the organisation to advise and educate stakeholders on the best comms approach for strategic and tactical initiatives, to ensure the purpose of the communications is met every time.

Responsible for line managing and supporting the development of the Internal Communications Executives

Be a trusted advisor on internal communications for senior management. It is vital this role builds relationships with senior stakeholders to foster trust and awareness

Manage a range of communications programmes/initiatives including employee events, video creation and announcements to support overall objectives

Support on change and business transformation projects

Ensure there is a consistent approach in terms of voice throughout all communications

Be a firm filter on what does and doesn’t constitute good internal comms.

Help our leadership team communicate to our business in a relatable, open and approachable manner.

Track the effectiveness of internal communications through sensible reporting.

Work closely with the Marketing and External Communications team and the People Team.
