More About the Role
AO Recycling, part of the AO.com group is a flourishing recycling business, well established in Telford across 2 sites, with state-of-the-art machinery and a deserved reputation for best in class processing. We demand the highest standards of recycling and the highest standards for our sites.
We are looking for a self-motivated, hands-on and committed individual, who has a dedication and pride to match our own. This role sits within our Procurement and Facilities Team and is ideally suited to an individual with a passion for maintaining and improving sites, and a broad set of skills.
Your key responsibility will be to maintain, service and improve our two Telford sites, both internally and externally. Sitting within the facilities and procurement team, you will work alongside operational and engineering teams, and also be expected to support external contractors for larger maintenance/improvement projects.
Your can-do attitude, passion, and energy, along with a broad range of competences will enable you to be an active member of AO Recycling with meaningful and highly visible results.
Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Report to the Procurement Manager, sitting within the Procurement and Facilities Team.
- General repairs such as minor brickwork, changing and repairing light fittings, doors and door lock repairs.
- Basic joinery.
- Maintaining washroom facilities.
- Slab, fencing and landscaping repairs and maintenance.
- Painting and decorating, along with minor plastering tasks.
- Installation of office equipment including whiteboards, shelving and desks.
- Maintenance and tidying of all areas (operational and cleaning teams are also tasked with keeping areas clean and tidy)
- Manage and report a task list of activities, demonstrating prioritisation, time management and completion.
- Working hours, Monday-Friday, 9am - 5.30pm.
A Few Things About You
Driving licence enabling travel between the two Telford sites (Halesfield and Stafford Park).Basic electrical skills desirable.Basic plumbing skills.Able to work under own initiative, garner support and deliver improvements to site.Professional, confident and organised.Previous experience in a similar role.Be able to manage priorities and work under time pressure, delivering against deadlines.Flexible and positive attitude.
