About The Role
Working within the Business Intelligence team you’ll be responsible for empowering the team to deliver on its strategy and facilitating their personal development. You will be using your expertise to ensure that good practices and ways of working are followed within the Business Intelligence team. Offering advice and guidance to other members of the team to further their progression will be a key part of the role.
You’ll have the responsibility to develop the Business Intelligence strategy and ensure it is communicated, understood, and implemented within the wider business. Any adaptation or improvements will then need to be considered within the team then planned and resourced. You’ll be identifying new opportunities for the BI team to produce analytical solutions and making sure that the current technical stack is relevant to its needs.
Working closely with the Data Engineering and Data Platform teams you’ll be involved in modernising our current Data Platform to meet AO’s ever-increasing data demands. Along with this you’ll be providing the guidance on how to incorporate legacy solutions within this new paradigm. As a direct report to the Head of Data you’ll be involved in making sure that Business Intelligence is at the forefront of the ongoing vision for Data at AO.
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Developing principles and ways of working for the team to live by
- Providing line management support for a team of developers
- Ensuring that the output of the team meets the standard expected by AO
- Dealing with prioritising varying pieces of work required to be delivered by the team
- Working with the Business Intelligence team to provide solutions for AO’s analytical requirements
- Support with and provide tailored development plans for individual members of the team
- Evaluating current solutions and providing migration or deprecation plans
A Few Things About You
You’ll be passionate about data and analytics, have great attention to detail and a drive to improve data literacy within a large organisation.
You’ll be able to create and communicate a clear vision and strategy and motivate a team to deliver.
You’ll have a proven track record of managing and developing a team of developers
You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently between multiple tasks in different technologies.Some Technical Skills:
