More About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our AO Business team for a buying assistant. The role will require you to assist the Junior Buyers in the administering of buying, developing and ranging products that support our B2B client sectors, achieve the category targets and meeting company objectives.

The successful candidate will take personal responsibility for assisting with the buying of all categories. The job itself is centrally based, however, there may be some travel involved and flexibility will be essential.

Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing

* Monitor sales and margin performance and interpret variances against the overall plan
* Update and manage the promotional SKU plan by category and liaise with marketing and supply chain on achieving go live dates
* Ensure all new products have correct specifications, images, reviews and videos pre go live
* Monitor competitor activity and communicate to Trading Manager
* Use customer/client, sales and market information to support the Trading Manager in creating a range that meets market needs, supports the client / B2B proposition and achieves department goals
* Maximise lost sales opportunities to endure we have the correct B2B range
* Assist the B2B sales team with large order enquiries
* Ensure that all promotional finances are kept up to date
* Work with supply chain to maintain supplier line by line sales forecasting and B2B intake plans
* Contribute towards establishing, maintaining and building strong B2B relationships with suppliers and other internal departments
* Be a point of contact for suppliers and for ‘B2B buying’ related queries. To ensure all relevant administrative, financial and systems procedures are completed accurately and within agreed timescales
* Manage the process for raising income from suppliers, monitoring it vs targets and reconciling it with Finance
* To investigate invoice discrepancies on agreed trading skus and queries as advised by the Buyer
* Other tasks as and when required

* A graduate is preferred with the drive and desire to pursue a career in a fast moving commercial environment.

* Highly numerate and possess excellent analytical skills

* Self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to solve problems at source

* Potential to develop excellent negotiation skills

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* A confident personality and be comfortable in social situations

* Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise and work within tight timescales

* Excellent organisation skills and good time management

* Team player and have an eye for detail

* Must be PC literate with an excellent working knowledge of excel
* At least one years’ experience in a similar position
