A bit about us

We may have started small, but we’ve always had very big ideas. We launched in 2001 and we just haven’t stopped; a years’ worth of achievements always seems more like three at AO.

Our customers are now our biggest advocates, and we’ve made millions of them happy. We’ve even launched in new territories throughout Europe. Sometimes we have to pinch ourselves.

But, we’re determined to be the best electrical retailer in Europe, and for that, you need to be driven. We need to be bold enough to try new things, and smart enough to see them through. We need to care about people, and we always like to have a little fun as we do it.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to AO’s unique way of managing marketing relationships with manufacturer partners. Working within the marketing team, the Trade Marketing Executive will be the lead contact for a number of key strategic partners.  Success will be achieved through developing a deep understanding of the strategic objectives, products and target audience of the partner brands as well has how this relates to AO’s business objectives and the industry as a whole.

Internal relationship building, excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail will be required.

Here’s what you can expect to be doing

  • Deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns ensuring all projects are delivered as specified, on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding and appropriate application of digital marketing principles across acquisition, conversion and customer retention (including PPC, SEO, display, affiliates, promotions, social media, PR, UX design and CRM)
  • Write and communicate project briefs and timelines to ensure copy writing, design, development, acquisition and retention teams have the correct information and time to create high-quality deliverables.
  • Work with the customer insight and web analytics teams to identify and clearly communicate customer segments, trends, patterns and behaviour.

The in-house team at AO has a highly trained set of recruiters who know the precise type of person that would flourish in the business, as such we won't consider / read speculative or unsolicited CVs from agencies to any AO employee.

When we need to draw upon our external recruitment partners we will only use suppliers who have signed up to our preferred supplier list. Only our selected recruitment partners will earn a fee where we have instructed them directly within a specific remit.
